ABOUT GEERTJE

2010 - Oct Posted by Geertje

Go to my LinkedIn page and you will find that I’m a 30-year old writer, concept developer and cultural anthropologist. But get me in a more dramatic mood (which is terribly easy) and I would rather call myself a professional seeker.

Big questions fascinated me ever since I was little and wanted to be an astronomer. Not being smart enough for that however, I approached the who are we-s? and the what is the purpose of life-s? from a more familiar social academic perspective. I absorbed everything from religion- and gender studies to philosophy, eventually graduating as an anthropologist.

To balance the talking, walking brainy nerd that I secretly am, I soon picked up a yoga practice that has been going steady ever since. Soon after, I fell in love with the Buddhist wisdom traditions. Still in college, I started Potential Buddha. Like a good journey is supposed to, it took me to all kinds of exotic places, broken hearts and professional side tracks only to end up right back at the start. The Big Questions. I was ready to do Potential Buddha 2.0.. Up close and personal.

I became a writer. Which I love. It makes me ridiculously happy and I feel very fortunate to not only be able to do that, but to also publish and share it in my workshops.

I hope to meet you one day down the road.
